ADMISSION POLICY
We accept children's names on the admissions list from their their birth date or during last months of pregnancy.
We offer places in accordance with our Admission policy. This covers a number of issues, including families in full or part time job and families. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not provide reasons as to how and why places are allocated to particular children.
We are not able to provide specific dates as to exactly when your child will be offered a place, but it is a good idea to phone us every few months to check.
OPENING HOURS
The nursery opens from 8.00am until 6.00pm.
Children will only be received into the Nursery between these hours.
If you think that you are going to be late to collect your child or will bring him/her to the Nursery late, please make prior arrangements with the Nursery Co-ordinator, Manager or your child's keyworker. Please try to arrive on time, as it can be distressing for young children to be picked up late. Nursery children must be brought to the Nursery and collected by an adult (over 16). Please inform us if anyone other than the usual person is collecting your child. A fine of £10 per hour is charged if parents are late in collecting their child.
We do not let him/her go home with someone we do not know about.
CLOTHES
Your child will have access to sand, water, paint, glue etc therefore clothes that are easy to manage are crucial. Although we provide aprons, accidents are more than likely going to occur. If your child needs to be changed we have some spare clothing, but we ask that you wash and return it the following day. Alternatively, you may like to keep a spare set on your child's peg.
If your child is still in nappies you may also need to provide wipes and nappies on his/her peg.
ABSENTISIM
Please tell your key worker if your child is going to be absent; and ring if your child is sick and will not be able to attend. If we do not hear from you within a week, we may allocate your child's place to another child.
If there is going to be a long-term absence (i.e. a holiday or moving into a nursery class/school) we need to know details to ensure that her/his place is available on return.
TOYS AND SWEETS
Please do not give your child sweets, crisps or biscuits to bring to the Nursery. As the Nursery encourages healthy eating and provides a wide range of fruits and healthy snacks to be given during circle time, with milk or water.
We prefer children not to bring toys to the Nursery as they often get lost or broken.
FOOD AND NURSERY SNACKS
Bumble Bees Nursery does provide a well balanced and freshly made lunch and tea, daily made from scratch by our Nursery cook. We have a monthly Menu available for all parents/carers to take home and we welcome all suggestion and ideas (for parents/carer who prefer to bring a pack lunch for their child they welcome to do so, your child's keyworker will be more than happy to heat it up for him/her). The Nursery provides daily milk and water, fruits and sugar-free juice for every snack time.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Bumble Bees Nursery is a rich multi-ethnic community and we value the different cultures of all the children that attend the nursery.
In order for all children to have equal learning opportunities, we aim to create an anti-sexist and anti-racist environment.
CHILD PROTECTION
As an Under Fives establishment registered with the London Borough of Ealing, we are bound by the Children Act 1989. Therefore, if we have cause for concern regarding the physical and/or emotional well-being of your child we would first discuss our concern with you as a parent. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to refer the incident on to Social Services.
